Snowdon South Ridge

‘The South Ridge’, is the mile-long ridge running south from near Snowdon summit, from Clawdd Coch down to Bwlch Cwm Llan. We then return via the Rhydd Ddu Track.

South Ridge Information

Please read the following information before booking

The South Ridge is. challenging route and is suitable for people who want to gain experience dealing with exposure and heights.  

The weather can make or break this walk, so it is important to review the weather on the day before deciding whether to proceed.  If I feel the weather is too dangerous, I will cancel the booking and offer you the chance to choose an alternative date instead.

Walkers must have a decent fitness level and a reasonable amount of hiking experience undertaking challenging routes.  

It is essential that suitable footwear is worn, and you prepare for all types of weather as the weather can very quickly change on the mountain.

You must bring with you all items on the kit list below.  Should you fail to bring the correct equipment, I reserve the right to cancel the walk for your own safety without providing a refund.

The route is not suitable for children or dogs.  

Essential Kit List

Rucksack

Suitable hiking footwear with a good grip.  No trainers.

Waterproof Clothing

Gloves and Hat

A Minimum of 2 litres of drink and plenty of snacks

Spare warm clothes
