Crib Goch

Leading people up Crib Goch is one of the most popular mountain days I get asked to do.

It's a grade 1 scramble across a knife edge ridge, offering the most exciting way up Snowdon to North Wales' highest peak.  The views on a clear day are breathtaking.

Crib Goch Information

Please read the following information before booking

Crib Goch is a Grade 1 scramble that should be approached with caution.  The views on a clear day are absolutely breath taking and will be worth the hard work of making it to the summit.  The route requires lots of resilience at times, and isn't for the faint hearted!  The weather can make or break this walk, so it is important to review the weather on the day before deciding whether to proceed.  If I feel the weather is too dangerous, I will cancel the booking and offer you a route change, a date change or a full refund.

However despite the high level of exposure to the ridge, the level of technical difficulty is relatively straight forward if you have a decent level of hiking experience.  Crib Goch should not be attempted in poor weather, or where the winds are high due to the amount of exposure.

Walkers must have a decent fitness level and a reasonable amount of hiking experience undertaking challenging routes.  If Crib Goch isn't for you, you can find the details of alternative routes under the guided Walks section at the top of the page.

It is essential that suitable footwear is worn, and you prepare for all types of weather as the weather can very quickly change on the mountain.

You must bring with you all items on the kit list below.  Should you fail to bring the correct equipment, I reserve the right to cancel the walk for your own safety without providing a refund.

The route can take 5-6 hours but can be made longer, taking in more of the Carneddau.

The route is not suitable for children or dogs.
